Take me somewhere packed full of history, spectacular full fat food and Victory Brewing I will be one happy traveler. Maybe I am biased because I have been so many times but this is the northeast without the full northeast choas. The suburbs are all walking friendly and a short trainride away. Oh yes, they have such great public transportation. One day… the rest of us will figure it out!
My favorite place when downtown is Reading Terminal Market which is filled with so many food options. I bake alot but I don’t noramlly crave soemthing sweet but the absolute best donuts I have ever had were from Beiler’s Donuts. The favorite part is you can watch the dounuts being poured and frosted while in the line. There is always a line however it moves very quickly! While you are there you can stop at Spartaro’s Cheesesteaks and get a phonimnal cheesesteak. I am warning you they are messy and filled with so much cheese. Completely worth it and great to take outside while you stroll through the city. This area is completely filled with colorful flowers in the spring and summer and in the fall the trees change to beautful fall colors.
The liberty bell park is free and you are able to walk through the museum and stand next to the libery bell. It is an amazing peice of histroy and sits in a park in the heart of the city.
Okay, lets talk about Victory Brewery, because sometimes I think I might be one of the only people I that rave about a sour beer. There sour monkey is 9.5% and so tasty, so prepare yourself the that percentage, but they do have many options to choose from. Aside for the great beers they have a huge roof top patio that is filled with comfy couches and tables.
