Instead of going to visit friends’ cross country we decided to do a couple’s trip for New Year’s! We flew into Cancun International Airport and took a shuttle down to our resort which was in Riviera Cancun. We stayed at Azul Beach Resort and it was a great decision! Our resort that had six pools with one being adults only! There were six bars with 3 being swim up. There were 6 restaurants which offered Pizza, Mexican, Caribbean, Italian, Steakhouse, a buffet and room service. The food was outstanding. I was a little worried, going into it being an all-inclusive that the quality of the food wouldn’t be great not the case at all. Everywhere we ate was very good and there was a large variety on the menus.
Packing List:
Waterproof Playing Cards for games like rummy, poker, euchre, pitch
Beach Bag for back and forth to the pool
JBL Speaker for patio and pool cabana
Reading Material for enjoying the sunrise
Tennis Dress for activities during the day
Swimsuit Cover Up to easily match all suits
They had a stage for New Year’s Eve on the beach with a band that went until 2AM along with a large display of fireworks. The beauty of an all-inclusive is that you don’t have to ever leave the premise, we played pool, foosball, shuffleboard, tennis, went on kayaks and played endless cards. The entertainment team offered yoga on the beach each morning, a Zumba class midafternoon. They had different events at each pool however at the adults only pool they offered bingo, beer chugging contest and trivia during the day with prizes of gift cards to the spa.
The beach at our resort was not great, they experienced some erosion about five years ago however with the verity of pools it did not affect our trip. If you’re looking for a week away and you just want to spend quality time with friends or family, I highly recommend this all-inclusive! Be sure to book your shuttle to and from the airport!
