Spaghtti junctions… it was the first thing I learned when I moved to Atlanta. Let me tell you for a small town midwestern gal it is no joke. It’s the 285 and 85 junction and it is complete chaos! I grew up on two lane highway’s and was completely shell shocked. Not only was I 22 moving south but also to a huge city. My love for this city was a slow burn but I also moved here twice because I am a firm believer I will try anyting once, twice if i like it! Oh okay, in all honesty I was young and wild and embracing where my job decided to take me. I will tell you though the suburbs do give you an amazing feel of the south and the city is surprisingly not that far away…just depends what time you decide to venture there.
I loved every inch and moment of this city. Midtown is filled with unique bars, top of the line resturants. Ponce City Market is a fun, vibrate walking friendly area with so many resturants and breweries to choose from most of which are dog friendly. Paris is living her best life too! Home Park is near Georgia Tech and has the coolest https://www.puttshack.com I have ever expericned. There is also https://www.ormsbysatlanta.com which is a bar that has so many games and events for you to partake in! The beltline can connect you to each small area of the city which encommpasses you into a different culture along with getting exercie and seeing beautiful street art along the way. The Atlanta Braves statium is in Cobb County and surrounded by resturants, the entire campus has stuff to do and apartments above the resturants. It is a definite must see. Peidmont Park has one of the greatest dog parks I have ever been to and a huge farmers market on Saturday from May-October. There are food trucks lined up and the prettiest flowers.
I often hear how everyone dislikes Atlanta because of the traffic, but let me tell you it is worth it. There is so much to see, everyone you meet is pretty much a transplate and friendly. You will get to eat great food and experience new things. Plus it is a Delta hub so it is always a non-stop flight away..at least for me!!
